There are many factors that make up who we are and form our sense of identity.  No woman can be defined by simply one element, character trait or quality –  that would be far too limiting.  Although we may have a primary lens through which we experience ourselves and our life, it’s important to recognize the many elements that go into forming our sense of personal identity.

Below you’ll find a graphic which describes some of the key aspects which make up a person’s identity.  This is intended to be a thorough but not exhaustive portrayal of an Identity Map. You may find there are other elements that make up your sense of identity.

Your Identity Map factors are impacting many aspects of your life, including your style. So it’s a relevant and intriguing area to explore, which is where we’ll go now.

In the field of psychology, issues of identity are considered to be important to a person’s development.  Psychologists have found that an individual’s sense of identity is determined in large part by the explorations that the person makes regarding her sense of identity and who she is.

Self-discovery is part of healthy human development!
