Color and Your Style Expression
We are surrounded by color – the world is bursting with it. Research shows that we remember an experience in color 70% more than a neutral one. Color has a huge impact on how you look and feel, and on how others respond to you.
Have you thought about the colors you wear? The colors you love? The colors that impact on you? Do you love some colors and hate others? Do you have a favourite colors scheme that you wear over and over? How about a signature color?
In this part of the Module, we’re going to explore your relationship with color through a number of lenses
- What colors you love and what colors you wear
- How you can use color to have a greater impact including more successful relationships and experiences
- Ways to balance your physicality with your personality using color
- How you can use color to express your style in an authentic way whilst flattering your appearance in a way that makes you happy
These are some of the ideas we’ll be exploring now

Color Psychology and Your Style Expression
Let’s start with the psychology of color – a fascinating area of study. Countless research projects have shown that color has a profound impact on how we feel and behave.
Whether you realize it or not, the colors you wear (and the colors people around you wear) will impact on communication, thoughts and emotions, both in a conscious and a subliminal way.
The first place we’ll start our Explorations is looking at your own color preferences, experiences, feelings and thoughts.
Open up Page 8 of your Module 11 PDF and you’ll see a list of colors, with common positive and negative trait’s associated with each of these colors.
Print out these two pages and take a pen or highlighter and mark the words (or note down the words in a way that works for you) that resonate with you with regards to each color.
